And Life Goes On...

Yesterday my Mom ran a 5K with Sis. Hoyal. I was so proud of them!

On Friday night, I went to my friend Heather Gross' house and watched the movie "Signs" with a bunch of friends. I love that movie!

Music in the Parks continued...

After the Log Flume, which looks a lot steeper sitting at the top of the peak than standing in line, I convinced Tanner to go on the Wild Mouse rollercoaster. He agreed, so we waited in the forever long line, and then finally boarded the cart. It was Tanner's first rollercoaster in his entire life! We sat in the very front row. At first Tanner just sat in the cart, but by the end both of our sides ached from laughing so hard. Apparently I'm not the only one who laughs on rollercoasters. Now that Tanner had gone on a rollercoaster, we decided to brave a scarier one: Colossus. We waited in a line that went pleasantly faster than expected, and then it was time to ride. Because of where we were in line, Tanner and I were in the very back row, but that was fine by both of us! The ride started with a long ascent up to the top. Okay, the people in charge of the amusement park have it all figured out. They make the ride to the top as long as possible so that you have time to regret going on the ride and wish you were gone. Then, the exciting descent comes, and you are thrilled, and then you end up wanting to ride again.
I can't remember what order we did everything in after that, but sometime after we went to the award ceremony in the Pioneer Pavilion. There were a lot of categories, and we qualified for a lot of them. Jazz Band got 1st, Footnotes (choir) got 1st, Wind Symphony got 1st, Orchestra got 2nd, and the best Jazz soloist was from our school. It was our drummer, Stacie. After that, it was getting dark, but I went with a huge group from Canyon View taking up 3 rafts on Rattlesnake Rapids six times in a row! We were all soaking wet by the end! It was funny, Chris had a shirt with Chuck Norris on it, and the one section that had the picture on it was completely dry at the end, but the rest of him was soaking wet! After that ride, I went with Tanner, Xane, and Ben on the Colossus a few times. We then went on the Jet Star, and Alex joined our group. Then Riley and Sam got me and Tanner to go on the Rocket. The line was forever long and I was freezing cold because I was still so wet, but it was all worth it. That ride is amazing! We then went and ate dinner at Subway. Sometime or another Tanner went on the Pirate Ship ride with me, I can't remember what it's called. That ride was really fun, and then to end the day we went with a bunch of CVJH kids on Colossus a bunch of times. It was cool, we were there until 9:45, and most people left at about 7:00, so the lines were super short!
Lagoon looks like the Juvenile Detention Center was taken out and dumped in it's park. We encountered some pretty scary people. First off, there was a kid probably a little older than me who had purple earrings. He passed me and Tanner after we got off of the Colossus, and after he passed us Tanner said that his earrings were ugly. Apparently that kid heard us, and he came over and asked what Tanner said about him. He obviously wasn't the brightest kid there, because he just kept repeating "What'd you say? What'd you say?" He looked like he wanted to kill Tanner. So Tanner just said that he didn't know what he was talking about, and then the kid left. Our group decided to wait and put some distance between us before proceeding, since we were going in the same direction as him. When we were waiting in line for the Rocket, a group of creepy kids came up and demanded that they go ahead of us in line. We told them that we didn't care if they passed us, we'd just barely gotten in line, so we were last, and there were only 4 of us anyway. So the kids went in front of us. They all smelled like cigarette smoke and had gross piercings. One of them stayed out of line for a second, saying he had to finish his cigarette before he went on the ride. Later, one of the kids from that group offered Meth to Nicole. Yeah, scary. (By the way, she turned down the offer.)
Well, in all, I had a great time at Lagoon!!!

Music in the Parks

Last Saturday (the 9th) I had Music in The Parks Festival. I arrived at the school with Nicole at 7:00. We boarded the bus and went to Northridge High School for the actual competition. When our choir, Footnotes, arrived, we warmed up for about 10 minutes and then performed right after that. When choir finished, I had to go change into a different dress for Jazz Band. After sitting in the audience waiting to go warm up with Jazz Band for a while, I realized that I didn't have my Jazz music. So I told Mrs. Woolf and we ran out to the bus and got it. The Jazz Band performed, and it was so much fun! I love playing on grand pianos, and luckily, that's what they gave me! After playing in the Jazz Band, I sat in the audience again, eagerly awaiting to hear our Wind Symphony. The time came when there was only one band left before Wind Symphony. They came on stage, and their band was surprisingly small. By the time they played their first note, we knew what kind of a band they were. And that kind wasn't exactly the good kind. After we survived through three of their songs, Wind Symphony came on stage. They started out strong and it just kept getting better and better! After listening to Wind Symphony, we changed into shorts and t-shirts. I was jumping around like crazy, celebrating that I could move again. Dresses and high heels are very restricting. We finally boarded the bus and set off for Lagoon, ready for almost ten hours of amusement park rides! I started out with Tanner and a bunch of other people, but they wanted to go on Wicked, whereas Tanner and I did not, so we quietly slipped away and went a different direction. The first ride we went on was Rattlesnake Rapids. There was a guy with his daughter and two sons on our raft. His two boys were jumping around the whole time and practically climbing on top of us. It was a little annoying. After cleaning all of the footprints off of our clothes, we went to the Log Flume. We were still pretty far back in line when the lady in charge of the ride asked if anybody had a group of two. We told her that we did, and we got to skip basically the whole line!
Sorry, I have to go to school now, I'll continue this story tomorrow.

My Hot New Sunglasses

These are my new favorite sunglasses. I got them for fifty cents at a yard sale last saturday. They are so dang cool!

OTAC

Yesterday I joined OTAC (Orem Timpanogas Aquatic Club). I got put on the Cub Team. It was so dang easy, but I guess that's okay. Chris said that once I improved some of my strokes, I'll be moved up to another team! My friend Natalie is on the Silver Team, the next one up from Cubs. After that there's the Gold Team and finally, the best team, Seniors. My brother Michael practices with Seniors for Varsity Swim Team at Orem High. I'll be on Varsity next year and so I'll practice with Seniors. Scary!

Alpine Days

Last Thursday and Friday was Alpine Days. It was so fun! It's the biggest track meet of the year for Junior High. I qualified for all of my events (mostly because we had so few 9th grade girls)!! I beat my Personal Record on the 3200 meter by about a minute and a half and my 4x100 team got 3rd! I also ran the 800 and the 1600.
This Saturday is Music in the Parks! I'm so excited!!!

The End of The Victorian Era

Today I would have had art, but we decided to quit and go to a different person. My old art teacher is named Victoria Valentine. My Mom and I felt bad when we went and told her because she's a single woman, and now that I quit, she's getting $75 less this year. If I hadn't quit, I would have gone to art until the end of May. I will now be going to a new art studio where they teach watercolors, freehand, and lots of other good stuff! I'm so excited! If I learn freehand, this summer at the Hill Cumorah Pageant, I can do paintings without a reference!

Today...

Today I slept in until 10:20. That means that I got 10 and a half hours of sleep last night!!! The play last night was great, and I convinced Ms. Kate to let me read her announcements for her from up in the tech booth. It was pretty sweet, because I just wandered in and out of the tech booth and they didn't care! (Usually they get mad at anybody who goes in there because we're not technically allowed up there because i'm not technically tech.)

My last two posts

Did you like how the two posts before this were almost exactly the same?

Opening Night of the Play

Today is Opening Night. I'm the student director. We all had to wear dress clothes to school today, so I wore one of Rachel Eggett's (plays Margot Frank) dresses. Tonight we will perform The Diary of Anne Frank for an audience. Scary!

Today!!!

Today is Opening Night of our school play, The Diary of Anne Frank. It is amazing! We had to wear dress clothes to school, and I wore one of Rachel Eggett's (plays Margot Frank) costumes. The play starts at seven. I have to be there at 4:30. I'm considered tech. because I'm the student director, so that's why I have to be there so early. I also have to wear all black. Oh joy!
